Here are the rules:

1. All participants must download the bracket from the website and send their completed bracket to Jon Van Kleunen at vankleun@gmail.com.  The brackets will be scanned into a spreadsheet for scoring, so please only use the bracket on the website.

2. Scoring is as follows:

     A. Points are awarded for accurate game predictions and vary per round.  1st round = 1 pt, 2nd round = 2 pts, Sweet 16 = 4pts, Elite 8 = 8pts, Final 4 = 10pts, and Championship = 15pts.

     B. Bonus points are awarded for significant upset wins.  Upsets by teams seeded 1-3 spots worse collect no bonus points in the first round.  A 4-7 seed difference = 1 bonus point, 8-11 seed difference = 2 bonus points, and 12+ seed difference = 3 bonus points.  The bonus points double each round.

3. The play-in games are not considered in scoring, but the play-in teams are valid once the round of 64 teams begins.

4. The entry fee is $20 per bracket.  Up to 3 brackets may be submitted per person.  The entry fee may be paid to Jon Van Kleunen via Venmo or Paypal (see the Payment page) or paid directly.  There is no discount for multiple brackets.

5.  Prizes are as follows:

     1st place - 60% collected pot

     2nd place - 30% collected pot

     3rd place - 10% collected pot
